Happy Tree Friends
This cartoon has crossed my path twice, in two days.
Serious WTF? stuff.
I, of course, think it is genius.

El Camaro

Have you ever seen such a wonderous thing?
This reaffirms my belief in God....

The guys over at Jalopnik posted this little bit of heaven up.

I am at a loss for words.
Combining the awesomeness of an El Camino with the raw performance of the IROC era Camaro would be enough for most men.

Sweet Jesus.
Add to that marriage an extra axle, a giant wing and Testarossa style side strakes.

Remarkably, it seems that this wundermachine used to be even better.
Back before that coat of primer, it had super amazing custom paint.

More Ball

Yup, play ball boys!
I think it is still summer.
Sure, kids have gone back to school and the days are shorter.
Godammit, there is still baseball being played though...
So that means it's summer yet.
Finally going to see an A's game, today.
A's vs. Mariners.
Seats for an A's game seem to allow for some bargain shopping.
I couldn't resist.
Really, row 5, up from first, for thirty bucks?
Hell yeah, I will take those...
Half of what got me was the Mariners.

I still have a soft spot for the Mariners, from our years in Seattle.
Plus, KVC thinks Ichiro is cute.
She says he is like a cat - with the stretching and the what have you.
I think he plays good old fashioned baseball. He is well on his way to a ninth season with 200+ hits, still quick on his feet.
The A's...
You know, I can't quite figure what goes on with professional sporting teams from Oakland.
There seems to be some intrinsic self destruction cycle that all the city's coaches/team owners can not avoid.
Regardless, the ever rebuilding A's tend to field a team that attempts to make up for that fact with nothing but youthful enthusiasm.
Build a team with a bunch of guys who have something to prove, they'll play with their hearts.
Seattle started this series with a bit of a home run derby.
Here at the end of it, I am sure there is still some action left.
So let's go see some ball.
Let the Eagle Soar
It is a rare two'fer music day at pretty not good...
Why, because of the 9th District Court.
The 9th District Court is why.
Because I feel as though I am the only person paying attention to what might be the biggest news story of this year.
See, Idaho's 9th Court ruled on an appeal regarding John Ashcroft's ability to claim immunity in his actions leading up to the Iraq war.
John has been saying that his position as a cabinet level member of the Bush administration, national security issues and a rafter of other bullshit allow immunity for cases in those regards and preclude him from any associated personal liability.
If you will be so patient to think back, following 9/11, we rounded up a shit ton of Muslim Americans.
Because they might be terrorists.
There was no evidence of their being terrorists of course...
It just seemed like an good idea to Bush and his crew to round up some towel-heads.
So we did.
And it was wrong...
It seems that it occurred to a few of those poor saps who were locked up for weeks, or more, to look for some recompense for their time and humiliation.
Some justice...
Some restitution for their being locked up, in spite of any Constitutional rights we all may be allowed to...
Something to make up for the life they dreamed of, an American dream, stolen away for a crazy God-monkey vision of revenge.
One of the people named in their suit was John Ashcroft.
They haven't had much luck with that...
The supposed "terrorists".
Not so much interest from courts in addressing this.
Justice.
There has been a lot of talk about national security and what have you in these random Muslim dude's case.
Not so much interest in facts.
Though, at this point, a lot of folks from that administration admit they were out in loony land, the Bushies have been held away from any demand for justification for their actions.
Things like facts and evidence have played a shockingly unrepresented role in the accounting for eight years of fuck peddling.
Most courts, to this point, have been willing to go along with a bit of post-Bush administration degree of disregard.
But the Federal 9th District Court of Appeals!
Those three crazy Fox News expose targets...
They have decided that there is, in fact, a bit of personal responsibility for a member of Bush's cabinet.
It turns out that they think that unlawful imprisonment is in fact wrong, in accord with our Constitution.
And with that, people responsible for this wrongful imprisonment are possibly to be held responsible.
Christ, it is not much, but...
That is something.

Wall of Death Wednesday

Came across a few more images of the lady who drove the car in wall of death shows, with a lion as copilot...

September?

Hey, it is September.
How the heck did it get to be September already?
Shit.
I am pretty random right now.
In my thinking.
I think I had one of those register things as a youth.
Mine was black, if I remember correctly.
I watched a guy put a floor lamp together on the train last week.
That was pretty random.
It was a big tacky brass lamp.
I guess he was excited about his new lamp.
He couldn't wait to put it together.
Perhaps he was just showing off.
Burning Man is this week.
What does that mean?

Well, for those of us who are not attending - it means we don't have to hear about how fucking great Burning Man is.
Sure, it may change your life.
I might rather not be a part of your life in the desert.
I do a pretty fair job of being weird every day.
I don't need to drive to the desert to do it.
I have got the weird thing down.
It might be autumn, here.
I haven't decided.
The morning skies have seemed very autumnal.
And the sun, well, it sleeps in more every day.
On the other hand, it was 100+ degrees here, just a couple days ago.
That is pretty hot.
That is hot that you can just about hear.
A door opens, and you can hear the whoompf...hot.
I suppose that is what passes itself for fall here.
KVC and I went down to Pleasanton, for a car show.

I think I have decided that car shows are weird.
And, you know, I like cars...
Maybe that moment was wrong.
I did eat a corn dog, there.
That was pretty good.
I am still working on taking over the world.
We'll talk about that later...
I think that should get you well up to date on my goings on.
